I found the one and now I found THE DRESS

Okay so I am so sorry it has taken so long to blog about this, we are having camera issues with finding the cord to get the pictures on the computer. But trust me I am still just as giddy about this dress as I was the day we found it!!

So let me start my rambling and tell you all about the special day... first of all we went to two different bridal salons, we started out at Anya Bridal in atlanta, i highly recommend some of their dresses, and they have great prices. My best friend (Maid of Honor) got her dress here!! I tried about 8 dresses on there and found 3 "favorites". I then went to Davids Bridal and tried on another 8 or so... but didn't really have any favorites that day.

One thing about Davids Bridal is they do not like you to flip thru the dresses, they want to get them from you so if you dont already have some picked out, your at the mercy of your bridal consultant to get to know your style and find what you would like. But anywho, I decided to go home and come back again a week later to try on the favorites and see if anything else jumped out at me... so I did, a week later after my mom returned from Jamaica we all went again.... we started off at Davids Bridal and were blessed to have the BEST bridal consultant ever, she really got to know me. But most importantly, the second I walked in the door my eyes were glued to this dress on display at the front... and the rest is history...

I fell inlove. Everyone talks about that "moment" where it hits you and you cry, and everyone with you cried. I have always that wouldnt happen because I put so much pressure on myself with things like this.. but it happened. I walked out and honestly couldnt feel my legs. I tried so hard not to cry but i did, and then seeing 3 of the most important women in my life crying as well, I definately couldn't fight the emotions.

There was just something about walking out in that dress and seeing myself, seeing what Wesley would be seeing as I walked down the aisle. I got some emotional thinking about walking down to him, I cry just thinking about it so I dont know how I will handle it the day of. He truly is my prince charming..and I cant wait til that moment when I see him for the first time.. Oh gosh, i cannot wait!!

So after going thru the process of shopping for THE DRESS, here is my advice to give if anyone wants to take it...
1) Consider who you bring with you. I am a very easily persuaded person when it comes to things like this and my biggest fear was that if someone said something or acted like they didnt like the dress that I actually LOVED that i would give in and agree, so I just respectfully told the ones coming with me that unless I looked GOD AWFUL in the dress or it was just hideous to not say that. I wanted their honest opinion but I needed to make my opinion first.
2) Dont try on 9,000 dresses!! If you dont know what you want in the beginning, try on several dresses that are completely different. I tried on mermaid dresses, i tried on the Princess Kate dress, the ballgown, the A-line, everything. And doing that it will help you narrow down what your style is, and then the consultant will bring out those dresses only from now.
3) Always try on a veil and shoes with each dress, it really makes a different and puts everything together.
4) Wear little to no makeup, some girls buy their dresses off the rack and you dont want getting stains on what could be someones dream dress. Plus, it makes coming in and out of dresses better.
5) Wear "whole butt undies". Lol your going to have someone seeing your in bare essentials so dont wear anything you wouldnt feel comfortable with a stranger seeing you in, alot!
6) Come first thing when they open or on a week day, it worked for me. I didnt want there to be 900 other girls tryin on dresses at the same time.
7) Be honest! Dont feel pressured to like a dress because the consultant was so excited about it and just knew you would love it!
8) Dont eat a full three course meal before trying on dresses, yes its a time to enjoy time with your loved ones but the appetizer, meal and splitting dessert with my mom and nana wasn't worth it when trying on dresses ha
9) Have fun!! I had the best time ever on this day and wouldnt change a thing!!
10) Last but not least, take LOTS of pictures!!
And now here are some of the pictures I can show you.... by the way, I have decided to not show anyone pictures of my dress, just another way to surprise people. :)
